EUSA EC meets to conclude 2025
Executive Committee members of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) met for their first meeting of the year, after their constitutive meeting in Zagreb following the election, during an electronic/online meeting on Monday, December 22, 2025.
After the welcome from EUSA President Haris Pavletic, updates and the main activity and office reports were given by the EUSA Secretary General, Matjaz Pecovnik.
The first main session of the meeting revolved around the sports activities. The EC didn’t confirm the attribution of the EUC Combat 2026, conditionally attributed in April this year; then decided to approve the venue change for EUC Futsal 2027 from Madrid (ESP) to Zaragoza (ESP), and to move the next edition of Winter Sports competitions to the period of January-March 2028.

The EC then confirmed a first list of Competition Chairs for the European Universities Games 2026, and approved October 17-18, 2026, as dates for the next European Students Run 2026, held within the 30th edition of the Ljubljana Marathon (SLO).
Regarding internal matters, the EC Members approved the establishment of a proposed list of EUSA permanent commissions for the 2025-2029 period, and the establishment of several EUSA working groups, together with the appointment of the related Chairs and the call for nominations for the permanent commissions.

The sessions continued with the nomination of the representatives for the EUSA Institute General Council, and the opening of the call for applications for the EUSA Solidarity and Development Fund 2026.
The Executive Committee Members finally confirmed 3 new universities as Associated Members, pending final approval by the next General Assembly, namely: Polytechnic University of Catalonia (ESP), University of Innsbruck (AUT), and Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (TUR). This brings a total of 122 associated universities from 24 countries. The newly joined entity will also be presented on EUSA's official social media channels.

EUSA Executive Committee will meet in person for the first time in its mandate, in Slovenia, March 19-22, 2026.
