European Universities Winter Games Erzurum 2028

The European Universities Winter Games represent a new chapter in the development of university sport in Europe. In 2028, the city of Erzurum, Turkiye, will host the inaugural edition of the Games, marking the first time EUSA expands its multi-sport university events into a dedicated winter format. The event will bring together student-athletes from across Europe to compete in winter disciplines including Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Volleyball, with additional sports to be confirmed.
The official hosting agreement was signed in Ljubljana, Slovenia, home of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) headquarters, during a ceremony attended by representatives of EUSA, the Turkish University Sports Federation and partner universities from Erzurum. The signing formalised Erzurum’s role as host city and confirmed the shared commitment to strengthening winter university sport on the European stage.
