EUSA Celebrates International Women’s Day and Gender Equality Month
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute join the global campaign “Give to Gain”, which aims to emphasise the power of reciprocity and support, through knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, and education, contributing to women's advancement to help create a more supportive and interconnected world.
March is recognised as Gender Equality Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness against gender bias and promoting the indispensable role of women in all international environments. For EUSA, this month serves as a pivotal moment to reflect on ongoing efforts to achieve gender balance across all levels of university sport, recognising the crucial role that female student-athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and leaders play in shaping a more inclusive sports movement and society.
Through the EUSA Institute, several Erasmus+ co-funded projects place gender equality at the heart of their activities, using sport as a tool to foster inclusion, empowerment and equal opportunities.
By collaborating with universities, student organisations and European partners, EUSA aims to ensure that every young woman and girl can participate, lead and thrive in university sport, today and throughout the year
