European Students Run presence at the University of Ljubljana Faculty run
On April 7, 2026, the 7th Faculty Run organised by the University of Ljubljana Centre for Extracurricular Activities and Ljubljana Halls of Residence, took place on a sunny and warm afternoon in the Slovenian capital.
The event brought together students, staff, and alumni of the university for an afternoon of activity, community, and inspiration. The purpose of the event was not to compete, as the run was not timed, but rather to exercise and socialise together with others in a relaxed environment and sporting challenge.

The Rozna Dolina Campus area was buzzing with energy, filled with music, cheering, and an enthusiastic crowd as runners were starting and finishing their distances. Over 900 participants ran together along one of three routes, either 5km, 10km, or 15km, passing by different university faculties and academies around the city. Participants ran in smaller groups led by other experienced students. Among the participants was also Gregor Madic, the Rector of the University of Ljubljana.

Sharing many of the same values as the students-run initiative, the event served as an ideal platform to promote the 2026 European Students Run and keep the initiative in motion. The initiative was actively presented throughout the afternoon, with five EUSA office members also participating by running 5km and 10km distances.

At the main activity area, participants had the chance to find out more information about the upcoming European Students Run taking place this autumn. Events like the Faculty run are important to the university community and students as they are not only about the race, but rather highlighting the social aspects and enjoyment, while promoting physical and mental wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.
