DiscoverU partners meet online ahead of EUG 2026
Partners of the DiscoverU project gathered online on June 8 for an important coordination meeting ahead of their upcoming in-person meeting and educational event during the European Universities Games 2026 in Salerno, Italy.
Bringing together partners from different countries and backgrounds, the project focuses on gathering information, sharing good practices, implementing innovative sports initiatives, and developing educational activities through a blended learning approach.
During the online meeting, partners reviewed the sports and physical activity initiatives and dual career support programmes that had been previously presented and implemented across participating institutions. Building on the updates shared during the 2025 online webinar, the consortium exchanged information on additional activities and new initiatives introduced since the academic year 2023/2024 - when the project officially commenced.

The consortium also addressed the preparations for the upcoming EUSA Forum entitled "Empowering University Sports: Grassroots and Innovation", where DiscoverU partners will contribute by showcasing key research findings, data insights, and examples of successful grassroots sport activation among students. The session will also highlight effective models for supporting dual-career of student-athletes.
The forum contribution will feature the collaboration of project partners lead by the EUSA Institute: Croatian Academic Sports Federation (CASF/HASS), University Sports Association of Poland (AZS), Hungarian University Sports Federation (HUSF/MEFS), University of Salerno (UNISA), and European Athlete as Student (EAS), further strengthening the exchange of knowledge and good practices in university sport across Europe.
The meeting served as an important step in aligning project activities and ensuring a coordinated presentation of DiscoverU achievements ahead of the consortium's gathering during the European Universities Games in Salerno.
