EUSA Forum 2026 coming up during the European Universities Games in Salerno
European University Sports Association (EUSA) is happy to announce the upcoming EUSA Forum 2026 on July 19 in Salerno, during the European Universities Games. Under the central theme Empowering University Sport Grassroots & Innovation, the forum will convene key stakeholders, researchers, and sports administrators, and is also open to athletes, volunteers, and other participants.
EUSA Forum serves as a vital platform for fostering dialogue, exchanging good practices, and driving the structural development of university sports across Europe. This year's event highlights strategic priorities in university sport, specifically focusing on good governance, the introduction of new sports activities, enhanced dual career support, and modern safeguarding frameworks.

After the opening speeches, the EUSA Forum will start with contributions on value-driven sport and the European Sport Charter. Participants will also be able to get the latest information about university sport in Europe in the session Insights from the Field: University sport at a glance.
The intersection of innovation and athlete welfare takes center stage with the presentation of the DiscoverU (Discovering University Sport and Supporting Dual Career) project, co-funded by the European Union. This segment features key contributions from project partners, including EUSA, national and regional university sport bodies, dual career specialists, and the host university.

The event will also cover the importance and values of a safe, ethical, and respectful sporting environment, which remains a priority in the university sports ecosystem. This session will bridge theoretical discussions with concrete action by linking safeguarding frameworks directly to the ESSEPA (European Sport Safeguarding Education and Promotion Action) project, also co-funded by the European Union.
The forum will culminate in an interactive Round Table Discussion, gathering high-level representatives from sports and educational organisations, reflecting on practical methods, actionable policies, and activities.
EUSA Forum 2026 takes place within the vibrant context of the largest European university sport event of the year (the EUG 2026), marking a summer of significant student-sport activities in the field of sport and higher education.
The event will start on July 19 at 15:00 at the Fisciano Campus premises of the University of Salerno.
