YouMind project launches Youth Mental Health resources
To highlight the crucial role of mental health as part of overall health and wellbeing, the YouMind project partners are proud to announce the launch of new resources on mental health during the European Week of Sport.
The initiative introduces guidelines on mental health in youth sports and a project video specifically designed to support young people in sport. These resources serve as an introduction to the topic of mental health, offering practical advice and actionable tips for organisations, sports clubs, coaches, and practitioners who work with young athletes.
The YouMind project video provides an accessible and engaging entry point into understanding mental health challenges in sports, while the YouMind guidelines on mental health deliver a more structured overview. Together, they encourage sports environments to be mindful of psychological well-being and help create a more supportive culture in both training and competition.
The resources are freely available; the video can be viewed online, and the guidelines can be downloaded directly from the project website.
The resources are available in the following languages:
The Youth Individual Sports Mindset (YouMind) project aims to: raise awareness about the importance of mental health in sport, develop strategies to prevent mental health issues among young athletes, and equip stakeholders - including coaches, sports clubs, and organisations- with tools to foster healthier sporting environments.
By addressing these needs, YouMind contributes to making sport a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for youth across Europe.
The YouMind project is co-funded by the European Union and is coordinated by the EUSA Institute in cooperation with the following partners: ENGSO Youth, University of Miskolc Sport Club (MEAFC), and University of Salerno Sports Center (CUS Salerno).
