Workshops supporting dual career held throughout Europe

Within the framework of Education Model for Parents of Athletes in Academics - EMPATIA project, workshops have been organised in several European countries in the past months, targeting parents and guardians of athletes in education.

Trying to provide support for the caregivers of young and talented athletes involved in a dual career path, enabling their sports and academic career, dual career parenting education programme has been developed and is available to general public free of charge.

Online workshops

EMPATIA educational website for Dual Career parenting is open to all Parents/Guardians of talented, elite athletes-students who combine sport & education. Crucial information, hints & tips and important documents were gathered in one place to help the parents and guardians empower their dual career student athletes. The information is available in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Slovenian language.

Resources and information

The platform has been developed within the EU funded Collaborative Partnership “Education Model for Parents of Athletes in Academics”, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. Ten universities and sport institutions from six member states France, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Portugal & Slovenia are partnering in this project, providing a consolidated experience and research in Dual Career at national and EU levels.

Hybrid event

EUSA Institute is also a partner in the project, and has in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana carried out a hybrid seminar on March 18 in Ljubljana. The event was attended by parents and guardians in person, as well enabling them to attend the event online.
