Volunteering opportunities with EUSA in 2023

European University Sports Association and the EUSA Institute are announcing the volunteering opportunities for 2023, with long-term (7 months) volunteering position in the EUSA Office, and short-term (7-10 days) volunteering positions during the European Universities Championships around Europe.

We are announcing the call and December 5 as the deadline for application for the next round of volunteering projects under European Solidarity Corps - ESC (successor of European Voluntary Service - EVS) within our organisation. The foreseen service in EUSA for this call is one year with the next available term being from February 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023.

Support of volunteering in the EU has a long tradition, as representing the service that provides young Europeans with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through unpaid and full-time voluntary activities. In this way, it aims to develop solidarity, mutual understanding, and tolerance among young people, thus contributing to reinforcing social cohesion in the European Union and to promoting young people's active citizenship.

The European Solidarity Corps brings together young people to build a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal challenges.
This opportunity is open to young people aged 17 to 30, and it is a learning opportunity for the volunteers and the organisations involved. Besides benefiting the local communities and organisations, young volunteers can develop new skills by participating in voluntary activities, improving their personal, educational and professional development. Volunteers can benefit from specific training throughout the activity and agree on their expected learning outcomes, processes and methods in advance.

With participation the volunteers get board and lodging, insurance is covered and a small allowance for the duration of the project will be given. For the ESC project to be successful it requires close co-operation among at least three key players: the supporting (sending) organisation in the country of the volunteer, hosting organisation (us) and the volunteers themselves.

Please be aware while submitting your application that, ESC does not mean a free vacation but an internship in a way, with emphasis on learning experiences, personal growth and improving youth employability opportunities.

Besides the long-term ESC volunteering opportunity, EUSA also offers a short-term volunteering opportunities during the 2023 European Universities Championships.
European University Sports Association (EUSA) in cooperation with its Student Commission (EUSA STC) and the local Organising Committees of our events offer the possibility for students to actively take part in the EUSA sports events as volunteers.

The main aim of this programme is to give a chance for young students, who are interested in sports and in organizing sport events, to get the opportunity of experiencing a unique adventure, learning about the values of sport, and gaining valuable work experience through volunteering.

The registration for this short term volunteering experience at the European Universities Championships 2023 will open in December.
