VOLFAIR brings Beach Handball and Volunteering into focus

Partners of Erasmus+ funded project VolFair - Be(ach) Volunteer, Be(ach) Fair! met in Tilburg, in the Netherlands for a meeting on March 19th, setting important steps in the project, highlighting beach handball as a developing sport, importance of volunteering and fair play.

The project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, aims to exchange knowledge about volunteering systems and improve volunteer policies by using the benefits of beach handball with a strong emphasis on fair play.

VOLFAIR meeting in Tilburg

The meeting was attended by representatives of partner organisations from the Netherlands - Camelot Beach Handball Tournament; Croatia - Beach Handball Club Zagreb; Slovenia - EUSA Institute and Poland - University Sports Association of Poland (AZS).

The partners finalized the website details and focused on the development of the platform, which will enable volunteers and organisers of beach handball events to work together. Partners also made important action points for the Handbook, which will be presented to the tournament organizers in the upcoming Beach Handball events. Participants of the meeting also visited the newly renovated Tilburg University Sports Centre.

Project presentations

Next meetings are planned for end of April in Zagreb on the occasion of the Jarun Cup and in Tilburg at the end of May on the occasion of the Camelot Beach Handball Tournament, where representatives of all organizations will be present having the opportunity to co-create the beach-handball events, enjoy the competitions and promote volunteering.
