University Sports House at the Youth Olympics Buenos Aires 2018

The Summer Youth Olympics 2018 are the third Summer Youth Olympic Games - international sports, cultural, and educational event, being hosted in Buenos Aires, Argentina between 6 and 18 October 2018. This year, the event also hosts the University Sports House.

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) is also present during the entire period of the Youth Olympic Games through a partnership with its Argentinian member association FeDUA, both organisation hosting the House of University Sport inside the Youth Olympic Park, one of the four competition and entertainment parks of the YOG 2018 concept.

Cutting the red ribbon

The House of University Sport, which was officially opened by FISU President Mr Oleg Matytsin on October 7, hosts local spectators interested in activities organised in Argentina to enable students to practice sports within universities and also about FISU’s upcoming events around the world.

The official opening gathered prestigious guests including President of the International Fair Play Committee Mr Jeno Kamuti, President of the International School Sport Federation (ISSF) Mr Laurent Petrynka, newly elected President of the International Biathlon Federation Mr Olle Dahlin, as well as many representatives from International Sports Federations and organisations. The red ribbon was solemnly cut by FeDUA President Mr Emiliano Ojea and FISU President Mr Matytsin, declaring the House open.

‎241 events in 32 sports will be held during the Games in Buenos Aires. The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international multi-sport event organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) every four years in summer and winter events, aimed at young athletes aged 14-18.
