University sport exchanges in Asia

The online and offline exchange of ideas and projects in the field of university sport was also done in Asia by the national university sport federations, with the support of the continental university sport body in Asia - Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF).

In the beginning of December, the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) and Chinese Taipei University Sports Federation (CTUSF) successfully conducted an online bilateral strategic dialogue. This was the first such session to be held online, ever since the since the mutual cooperation started almost a decade ago.

The session was also attended by FISU Vice Presidents Mr Xue Yanqing and Mr Shen Zhen, as well as the CTUSF Secretary General Mr Tseng Ching-Yu and CTUSF Deputy Secretary General Mr Lee Hong-Chi. Department heads from both federations were also present, as the main topics focused on bilateral cooperation in the future, and updated information about the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. The event was also an opportunity for federations to discuss future exchange of personnel, pandemic prevention and control, and reached a consensus on deepening mutual collaboration to provide platforms for different communities of university sports to engage from both sides.

Towards the end of December, CTUSF also organised a workshop for university students in hybrid form, with the topic of "International University Sport: Development, Strategy and Sharing".

Presentation of EUSA activities

On behalf of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), its Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik shared how EUSA develops university sport in Europe, with events and projects, as well as the overall policy, strategy and vision of the organisation.
