University Sport Association of Poland elected a new board
On June 16-17, the XXVII General Assembly of the University Sport Association of Poland (AZS) took place in Warsaw. A new Executive Committee was elected with Mr Alojzy Nowak reelected President.
The board is composed of 33 members, among the six vice-presidents are Mr Marian Dymalski, FISU Vice-President and Adam Roczek, EUSA President.
During the Assembly, reports of the recent activities were presented and prominent activists of university sport were awarded. A special guest to the Congress, President of the Hungarian University Sport Federation (HISF) Mr Adam Kiss was granted the Order of Merit from AZS for his sustainable contribution to the development of university sport.
AZS is the biggest and oldest student association in Poland, celebrating its 110 anniversary this year. It unites more than 40.000 members and more than 200 sport clubs.
Recently, AZS received two prestigious international awards: the most successful National University Sport Association 2017 by EUSA and the best National University Sport Federation 2017 by FISU. The new board stated they will do their best to make sure AZS attest to these titles in future.
