Tirana to host EUSA Football in 2023

The European Universities Championship in Football will be hosted by the city of Tirana, Albania, from June 25 until July 2, 2023.

The inspection visit was done over two days from 7-8 of December, on which EUSA was represented by EUSA Technical Delegate for Football Mr Andreas Demetriou and EUSA Sports Manager Mr Miha Zvan.
The Organisational Committee was consisted and represented of Mr Besnik Veliu, President of the Albanian Federation of University Sport, Mr Klea Taipllari, Coordinator of the OC and Mr Ervis Sulejmani, representatives of the Football Association of Albania.

The Inspection visit started on 7th of December, with visits of the designated sports venues Selman Stermasi Stadium and Air Albania Stadium, and continued with participating in on of the AFUS activities, visit of the acommodation and campus sites. The day was wrapped up with an internal meeting.

The next day, the inspection visit continued with a check up of the Fole Students residence and additional sports venues, available for the European Universities Championship in Football and a meeting with the representatives of the Albanian Football Federation.


As an important fact, this will be the first EUSA sport event, ever organised in Tirana and Albania in general  and with this Championship we will open the season of the European Universities Championships, that will last until September, ending with the Championship in Beach Sports. For the ocation the OC will provite the largest stadium in Albania for the finals of the Championship.

EUSA Technical Delegate and Sports Manager, thanked the OC for the hospitality and great ongoing preparations, looking forward to see the results of the organisation of the first ever EUSA sports event in Albania.
