Three GTMs ended today

Busy day in the University sports stadium because three GTMs are taking place during the day and the action will start tomorrow. Team sports, women futsal, football and basketball were all held today getting ready for challenges that expect the athletes for the following days.

First on the schedule was GTM for men futsal and it is a privilege to organize the futsal competition in the country of current European Champions, Portugal. 

At the beginning of the GTM all representatives heard the opening speech by EUSA Sports Director Mr Besim Aliti and OC Sports Director Ms Filipa Godinho introduced all representatives with all necessary information about the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the European Universities Games 2018 (EUG18).

Team lead by Chair of the Competition Commission for Futsal Mr Hovhannes Gabrielyan, with EUSA Technical Delegate Mr Tomasz Aftanski, Assistant Technical Delegate Mr Gerard Behan and National Technical Delegate Ms Catarina Martins presented rules and regulations of the tournament and the draw was made. After GTM for futsal women we had the opportunity to see representatives of an oldest team sport at EUSA competitions - basketball. Representatives of 32 teams, 16 men and 16 women came to hear all necessary information about the competition and to find out their opponents.

Last GTM of the day included teams for men and women football, and as we wrote this morning, we had the pleasure to have with us representatives from FISU World Cup Football in an expectation visit. Teams from 27 universities, 15 men and 12 women found out their opponents and the rules of the competition.
