Strengthening cooperation between EUSA and EAS

European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the European Athlete as Student (EAS) are strategic partners, working together in the field of dual career in Europe since 2016, with cooperation reaching also in the past.

EAS President Laura Capranica and EAS Treasurer Mojca Doupona welcomed EUSA Director of Projects and Policy Andrej Pisl for a working meeting in Rome on November 20.

Main points were the ongoing projects and activities, as well as possibilities of cooperation on new initiatives and development of projects for the future.

EUSA and EAS are currently partnering on an ongoing project Discovering University Sport and Supporting Dual Career (DiscoverU), co-funded by the European Union. Main aim of this Erasmus+ project, led by the EUSA Institute, is to improve sport and physical activity opportunities for students in higher education and promote and support dual career. In 2026, a conference will be held in Salerno during the 2026 European Universities Games.

An upcoming joint initiative to start in 2026 is a CERV project Give Sport a Say: give citizens a real say for the future of the EU in and through sports (Give Sport a Say) on citizens’ engagement and participation, also co-funded by the European Union. Both EUSA and EAS will support the implementation as project partners, together with other consortium members, coordinated by OPES.
