Strasbourg prepares for EUC Badminton 2027

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) conducted an inspection visit in Strasbourg, France, on 12-13 October 2026, as part of the preparations for the upcoming European Universities Badminton Championship 2027.

For the inspection visit, EUSA Technical Delegate Jozef Kuprivec was welcomed by Xavier Dung, FFSU National Director / CEO, and Gregory Heck, Regional Director of the Grand Est University Sports League, representing the Organising Committee.

The two-day programme provided an opportunity to assess the progress of preparations, review the planned competition and operational facilities, and discuss key organisational aspects with local stakeholders and service providers.

The programme included visits to the main competition venue, training facilities, accommodation and catering facilities, as well as the planned accreditation centre and locations for the opening and closing ceremonies. Discussions also addressed transportation arrangements and other logistical aspects essential to the smooth delivery of the championship.

Meetings with representatives of the local authorities and the University of Strasbourg provided further insight into the local support and cooperation involved in organising the event.

The visit concluded with a presentation by the Organising Committee on the progress achieved to date, followed by a debriefing and a question-and-answer session. These discussions provided an opportunity to review the current state of preparations, address outstanding matters and identify the next steps towards the successful organisation of the championship.

The visit reaffirmed the continued cooperation between EUSA and the Organising Committee, supporting the ongoing preparations for the European Universities Badminton Championship in Strasbourg in 2027.
