Start of K2S-GenZ project on volunteering in Generation Z

Partners of the Erasmus+ project Future volunteers - Key to success is Generation Z (K2S-GenZ) met online, to kick-start the 1-year project on volunteering.

The small-scale cooperation partnership project involves three organisations from two countries - Sports Club of Miskolc University (MEAFC) and Hungarian University Sports Federation (HUSF/MEFS) from Hungary and the EUSA Institute from Slovenia. The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

Introduction to Generation Z by an expert

Members of the partnership are committed to the development of university sports movement and the core values of this community. Long-term goals include encouragement the active participation of young people, promoting the values of volunteering as a valuable job experience also through learning through practice. The project will study the requirements in the field of volunteering, especially taking the characteristics and needs of Generation Z, gathering feedbacks from stakeholders and produce strategically thoughtful professional materials.

At the kickoff meeting, held on April 5, Ms Enniko Bereczki, generational researcher and expert on Generation, Z presented the main characteristics of Generation Z, how to attract them, involvement initiatives and presented some other key elements for successful work with this target population. An interactive debate with questions and answers followed the keynote contribution.

After the introduction by an expert, the partners established the Steering Committee and other working groups, validating the project organisation and management. The Project Plan, Risk Assessment and Progress Reporting were also adopted, and recruitment process for the volunteers confirmed.

In this stage of the project, a small group of volunteers from Hungary will be selected, enabling them to gain experiences at the national university championships in May, and later at the European Universities Games in Lodz, Poland. If you are a young university student, aged 18-26, currently studying in Hungary, please keep an eye on the upcoming call, which will be published at Hungarian University Sports Federation's channels.
