Spring 2025 SHARE 2.0 COP event on health

Today, on May 26, the SHARE 2.0 - Community of Practice (COP) on Health capacity-building activity was held online, focusing on the Polish Presidency objectives on health, sports and education, and the prevention of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in Europe.

Welcome and opening were done by Stefano Pintus from DG EAC of the European Commission and Morosi Martina from ICF, introducing the framework and the topic of the capacity building activity.

Presentation from the Council of the EU Polish Presidency on the objectives with regard to sports and their relation to education and health was done by Ewa Markowicz, Vice Chair of the Working Party on Sport. She focused on the political priorities and activities, also resulting in a declaration.

FitBack initiative was presented by prof Gregor Starc, professor and researcher at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Ljubljana. He presented the ongoing implementation of battery testing, monitoring any analysis, carried out with children and youth in educational institutions in Slovenia and several other countries, with an invitation for others to join.

Last presentation was done by Gabriella Sutton, Project Coordinator at EuroHealthNet and Petru Sandu from the National Institute of Public Health Romania, who together presented the Schools4health Initiative and Better Movers Thinkers (BMT) practice. 

After each session, the floor was opened for the community of practice members to give feedback, ask questions to the speakers, and contribute with their input as well.

SHARE 2.0 initiative will continue with other community of practice capacity building online events on other topics, with a larger SHARE 2.0 conference to be held in person later in the year. For more information, please visit https://sport.ec.europa.eu/initiatives/share-20
