The Slovenian Rector's Conference adopted May 31 as the Student Sports Day in Slovenia, expanding the recognition of sport in higher education, besides the International Day of University Sport on September 20, proclaimed by UNESCO on the initiative of FISU.

For the development and popularization of sport among students and employees, this is a big step towards the development of student sports for the whole country.

The President of the Rector's Conference of the Republic of Slovenia Mr Danilo Zavrtanik invited all Universities and higher education institutions in the country to replace regular school activities on May 31 with sports and physical education activities, providing students and employees with various forms of sports.
