September is for celebrating sport

Although all EUSA competitions for this year are finished, in September we continue celebrating sport because of two important dates, and we invite you to put them in your calendar because we would like to celebrate them together.

For the third year in a row, we are to celebrate September 20 as the International Day of University Sport (IDUS) proclaimed by UNESCO on the initiative of FISU. This is an amazing opportunity to remind us that University sport is a huge family with members all over the world who work together to keep improving University Sport.

Couple of days later, on September 22, we will have the honour to be part of the official opening of the European Week of Sport which will be held in the Prater Park in Vienna, alongside Austria’s Day of Sport. The whole week after the opening (September 23-30) will be dedicated to inspiring Europeans how to embrace the #BeActive mind-set and get involved in physical activities throughout the year.

This year, European University Sports Association (EUSA) will celebrate #idus International Day of University Sport and #beactive European Week of Sport with the EUSA convention, that will be held in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia between September 20 and 23.

We invite you to join us in the celebrations of both initiatives by organising events yourselves, taking part in already scheduled events and activities, as well as in online promotion by using the hashtags #IDUS and #BeActive and therefore join the largest sport families.
