Rugby Europe and EUSA meet online

Rugby Europe and the Sports Department of the European University Sports Federation conducted a fruitful online meeting on Friday, November 13, discussing various aspects between the partner organisations.

Rugby Europe and EUSA have shared an official cooperation since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2017, following which an updated partnership agreement was signed in May this year.

Friday’s meeting allowed both parties to discuss their activities as well as future plans, ensuring each organisation was well-informed of their partner’s events.

Following introductions from both federations, EUSA’s upcoming programme was discussed, following which an update was given regarding the fifth edition of the European Universities Games taking place in Belgrade, Serbia in July next year, where Rugby 7s has been added to the official sports programme of the event.

A timeline of upcoming milestones was then discussed, as dates for inspection visits, confirmation of venues and further meetings were agreed upon, after which the current global COVID-19 pandemic was examined, with possible changes and adaptions to future events considered.

Both organisations agreed to continually support and engage with each other, especially considering that registrations for next year’s Rugby 7s competition at the European Universities Games are currently open.

EUSA Rugby 7s will be played at EUG2021
