Registrations open for SELL Games 2020

Registrations are open for the 36th SELL Student Games, taking place in Lahti, Finland this year under the patronage of EUSA, in what is expected to be one of the biggest editions of the Games yet.

The SELL – which stands for Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in their own respective languages – Student Games is an international sports competition for students which dates back to 1923, when the first International Regional Student Sports competitions were organised in Tartu, Estonia.

Last year’s event attracted almost 1300 participants from 48 universities and 7 countries for the two-day competition which was held in Kaunas, Lithuania.

The 2019 edition will take place at the LAB University of Applied Sciences in Lahti, Finland from May 15-17, with 1 200 participants expected from around the world together with over 200 organisers and volunteers.

This year’s sports programme includes an array of different sports, including Athletics, Judo, Wrestling, Table Tennis, Orienteering, Disc Golf, Mölkky, eSport (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Hearthstone), as well as Basketball, Volleyball, Floorball and Football 7x7.

Added to the sports competitions will be a number of cultural and social activities, including a student health and sport seminar, a chance to learn about eSports as well as traditional Finnish sports while a big student party is scheduled for the final evening of competition.

Registrations for this year’s Games are currently open, with the deadlines as follows:

15.3.2020 – General and quantitative registration deadline. 

15.4.2020 – Qualitative individual registration deadline.
