The second edition of the European Students Run, taking place as part of the 30th NLB Ljubljana Marathon on 17-18 October, 2026, will feature a record-breaking number of participants, including university student runners.

Highest representatives of the City of Ljubljana, Timing Ljubljana and the main sponsor NLB prepared a press conference following the closure of the registrations, sharing the impressive statistics.

Out of 22,509 registered runners, over 11% are students - 2,616 to be exact, including more than 550 international participants, are expected to take the course across the 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km distances. Overall numbers per distance:
4,910 – Heineken 0.0 Marathon 42 km
10,423 – Generali ZAME Half Marathon 21 km
7,176 – Garmin 10 km

The European Students Run is an initiative of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), organized in cooperation with Timing Ljubljana and the City of Ljubljana as official hosts and organisers.

We warmly invite you to visit the official EUSA info point, located in the service area at the Republic Square (Trg Republike) on Saturday, 17 October, and Sunday, 18 October. During the race, also join us at the Student Cheer Zone next to the Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana, to cheer on and support the young runners!
