Raqball meeting with EUSA Associated Member Universities
The Raqball Development Project recently held its online meeting on June 4, 2026, bringing together representatives from all participating universities who are selected EUSA associated members to reflect on the progress achieved throughout the project and discuss future opportunities for the development of Raqball across Europe.
The meeting, led by Patrice Henry, President of the International Raqball Federation (IRBF), accompanied by Frederic Banger, General Manager and Nathan Otvas, Technical Manager of the International Raqball Federation (IRBF), also attended by Liam Smith, Director of Sports Events and Kinga Gaal, Sports Officer representing the European University Sports Association (EUSA).

It provided a valuable platform for partners to present the initiatives implemented at their respective institutions, share experiences and best practices, and evaluate the impact of the project within their university communities. As the first occasion where all participating universities came together to exchange their respective progress, the meeting fostered valuable discussions on achievements, challenges, and future development plans.

The project, implemented through the collaboration between the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the International Raqball Federation (IRBF), involved seven universities from five countries: Turkiye, Romania, Hungary, Spain, and Portugal. Participating institutions include Bilkent University, Victor Babes University, the University of Miskolc, University Camilo Jose Cela, and the Universities of Aveiro, Beira Interior, and Coimbra.

Throughout the project, partners have successfully introduced Raqball through training sessions, educational activities, outreach programmes, university events, and community engagement initiatives. During the meeting, universities shared the progress made since the launch of the project and highlighted the growing interest in the sport among students, university staff, and local communities.

Looking ahead, participants discussed the next stages of development, including the organisation of regular training activities, international university exchanges, friendly matches, and further expansion of Raqball within higher education institutions.
