Preparing for #BEActiveWinter season 2025-26
With the European Week of Sport and the peak of the #BeActive campaign coming up in September, the project partners of the European Week of Winter Sports and the #BeActiveWinter campaign met online.
Co-funded by the European Union, the European Week of Winter Sport (EWWS) is modelled after the European Week of Sport by the European Commission. Special focus of this initiative is raising awareness of importance of sports and physical activity also and specifically during winter season. It also takes into account the aspects of socialisation, accessibility and sustainability.

The main focus will be the period of 1-8 February – with central dates of the European Week of Sport. The #BeActiveWinter campaign, however, is already in motion. Interested parties are welcome to explore the website for more information, as well as register and join us for a dedicated online event on October 8: European Week of Winter Sport 2026 – International Launch Webinar.
European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the EUSA Institute fully support the initiative and campaign, as strategic project partners, event organisers and governing body of university sport in Europe.
At this opportunity, let us also mention the upcoming European Universities Winter Sports Championships which will be held in Val di Zoldo and Italian Dolomites region in Italy between December 15-18. The event will feature sports competitions in Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Volleyball, as well as EUSA Winter Forum as a related educational event.
