MLEA project in Olympic form

On May 9, Europe Day, the Micro Learning Entrepreneurship for Athletes (MLEA) project partners met for a full day hybrid transnational meeting in Ljubljana, co-hosted by the Slovenian Olympic Committee and the EUSA Institute.

MLEA project addresses a gap in the field of entrepreneurial education for athletes in partners’ countries and the EU level in general. Tailor-made modular curriculum on entrepreneurship will be delivered through a micro-learning approach, to help athletes make most of their time and achieve their educational goals. MLEA will integrate gamification elements and will be offered as on-demand service by offering bite-sized, small learning units with the necessary amount of information to help athletes achieve their goals.

The attendees were warmly welcomed in the Slovenian Olympic Education Center by opening speeches from NOC Slovenia Top Sport Manager Mr Borut Kolarič.

Participants of the meeting were greeted also by EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaž Pečovnik, who stressed the importance of the project, and cooperation between sports and educational sector, also and especially in dual career support and projects.

All partners had a chance to present how each of their organisations support dual career and what enables athletes to access the job market.

Discussions were held also in hybrid mode

Afterwards, the importance of sports ambassadors, potential functions of the future online platform and its gamification were discussed in details also with the participants joining online. Finally, the planning for the next steps involving the recording of the video modules was discussed.

The two-year project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, is coordinated by Zagreb School of Economics and Management (CRO), with project partners including Stockholm School of Economics (SWE), WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management (GER), Croatian Olympic Committee (CRO), Olympic Committee of Bosnia (BIH), Olympic Committee of Serbia (SRB), Olympic Committee of Slovenia (SLO) and the EUSA Institute (SLO).
