Sport: Handball

Within EUSA Insider format, we are presenting the "Winn'Her, Mind Over Matter," an individual project, by Milia Molinié, ESC Volunteer from France.
The Winn’HER: Mind Over Matter series, which highlights women in sport and explores the often unseen aspects: mental health, focus, preparation, and resilience.
In this episode, Milia Molinie interviewed Li-Meng Borgman and Matilda Ericson, two young Swedish referees (#EHF Young Referees) who officiated at the European Universities Handball Championship 2025 in Covilha.
Both students and referees, they embody the #dualcareer reality and share their experience: how they stay focused, organize themselves, and manage the pressure of a role that is essential to every competition.
According to the latest All In Plus report from the Council of Europe, women make up only 32% of referees in sports federations. Their voices are therefore crucial to giving visibility to this vital commitment.
Directed by Milia Molinie, with the support of the Local Organizing Committee’s media team in Covilha, who were on the ground to capture this interview.
Step into the backstage of refereeing and discover the mental strength behind the whistle.
The European University Sports Association is supporting the “Winn’HER: Mind over Matter” project. The video credits go to Milia Molinie.
