Let's celebrate #ErasmusDays 2026

Erasmus Days are an international celebration of the Erasmus+ programme, bringing together people and organisations around the world to highlight its impact and the opportunities it offers in education, training, youth and sport.

In 2026, the 10th edition of Erasmus Days is taking place from 12 to 17 October, giving six days to celebrate a decade of promoting European cooperation and the values that connect people through education, youth and sport.

This year, the 10th edition of Erasmus Days highlights skills, with the tagline: “Learning and growing: skills for tomorrow”.  At a time when Europe is undergoing profound transformations through green and digital transitions, skills are more than ever the driving force behind innovation, resilience, and competitiveness. Led by the European Commission, the Union of Skills aims to strengthen the quality of education, training, and lifelong learning by investing in what matters the most: people.

The 10th edition of the Erasmus Days will be an opportunity to celebrate the impact of Erasmus+ and to show how it contributes to building the knowledge and talents of tomorrow.

To mark the 10th edition of #ErasmusDays, the European University Sports Association (EUSA), together with Erasmus University Ljubljana, created an Erasmus Sports and Hangout event, joining the celebrations by inviting Erasmus students to Tivoli Park in Ljubljana. More than a thousand young people from across Europe come to Ljubljana each year through the Erasmus+ programme, experiencing life in a new country, discovering different cultures and perspectives, and developing skills and connections that contribute to their personal and academic growth.

Bringing students together through sport provided EUSA with an opportunity to highlight the social value of physical activity and its role in fostering inclusion, intercultural exchange and a sense of belonging. In line with this year’s Erasmus Days theme, “Learning and growing: skills for tomorrow”, the event encouraged Erasmus students to try new sports, interact with their peers and build connections in an informal and welcoming environment. Together with EUSA’s European Solidarity Corps volunteers, the initiative created a space for students from different backgrounds to meet, share experiences and celebrate the diversity of the European student community.

The connection between Erasmus Days and university sport will continue through the Erasmus Youth Workers Mobility taking place between 15th and 18th of October, as well as the European Students Run, both reflecting the values promoted through the Erasmus+ programme, including inclusion, solidarity, well-being and European cooperation. By connecting the Erasmus Days with the Youth Workers Mobility and European Students Run, the initiatives highlight the role of physical activity in fostering connections, encouraging active citizenship and strengthening the sense of belonging to the European community.

It also demonstrates how sport can complement European learning and mobility opportunities, creating meaningful experiences that extend beyond the classroom and contribute to a more active and connected society.

In 2026, EUSA has active participation in EU-funded projects, such as: European Solidarity Corps (ESC), Discovering university sport and supporting dual career (DiscoverU), European Week of Winter Sports (EWWS), European Youth and Sport Together (EUYouSport), Sports Clubs Integrating Organised Networks (FUSION), ESSEPA - European Sport Safeguarding Education and Promotion Action, YouthSportCV - Empowering young people to assess their soft skills gained in sports for improving employment opportunities, Cycle2Connect,  Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, Team Volunteering and Youth Workers Mobility projects.

We are also looking forward to the projects that are foreseen to kick off soon, especially "Step-Walk-Run - Supporting Togetherness and Engagement in Physical Walking and Running", targeting students in higher education and focusing on grassroots engagement in physical activity; and  "TRACES - Traditional sports and games as Resources for Accessible Community and Physical Activity Experiences for Students," on combating social isolation and recognising community-based traditional sports and games in university environments.

EUSA Institute will also partner in two other new projects, to be co-funded by the European Union: "DualCarHer - Dual Career for Her: Women athletes in sport jobs," promoting education in and through sport while encouraging dual careers of athletes; and  "InSport Press - An inclusive approach to sport press training", focusing on skills development and on inclusion and diversity in education, training, youth and sport.

Over the years, #ErasmusDays have become a recognised event, with thousands of associations benefiting from the Erasmus+ programme strongly involved in organising events, with 10,324 events organised in 2025.

These events took place all over the world, thanks to the Erasmus+ National Agencies across Europe and to the networks of European embassies and local partners of Erasmus+ projects in other continents. With more than 10.300 events listed on the official website and marked on an interactive map, this year is expected to be an even greater success.

Let’s participate all together in making the European values shine!
