Kosovo University Sports Federation visit EUSA Headquarters

On 11 June 2025, President Musa Selimi and Secretary General Fidan Hamiti of the Kosovo  University Sports Federation paid a working visit to the European University Sports Association (EUSA) Headquarters in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

At the meeting, they were welcomed and engaged in discussions with Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik, Director of Sports Events Liam Smith, and Sports Manager Miha Zvan.

The meeting served as a constructive step toward strengthening collaboration and supporting the ongoing development of university sports in Kosovo.

During the visit, the Federation presented an overview of Kosovo’s participation in the upcoming 2025 European Universities Championships (EUC), with student-athletes set to compete in several sports disciplines. This growing involvement reflects Kosovo’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in the European university sports landscape and providing its athletes with greater international opportunities.

A key focus of the meeting was exploring the possibility of Kosovo hosting future EUSA events. This interest signals the country's readiness to take on a more active role in international university sport and to contribute to the wider European sports community.

Discussions also covered potential areas of EUSA support for Kosovo, such as the improvement of sports infrastructure, the development of educational and leadership opportunities for student-athletes. These initiatives aim to foster long-term growth and ensure inclusive access to quality university sports.

The visit underlined Kosovo’s forward-thinking approach and strong ambition to further integrate into the European university sports framework. By prioritizing development, collaboration, and international engagement, Kosovo is gradually working to improve the support and opportunities available to its student-athletes.
