Kick-off meeting of Education and Science Commission

On Thursday, 4 June 2026, members of the EUSA Education and Science Commission gathered online for their first meeting of the new mandate.

The Commission is chaired by EUSA Executive Committee Member Cedric Terret (FRA), while Milia Molinie (FRA), EUSA Education Officer, serves as Secretary of the Commission. The Commission members are Mutlu Turkmen (TUR) as EUSA Rectors Council Chair, Joana Caput-Jogunica (CRO), Niko Peltokangas (FIN), Joana Regadas (POR), and Emilie Hansen (NOR).

The primary objective of the Education and Science Commission is to strengthen the connection between higher education, research, and university sport. The Commission aims to promote educational initiatives and knowledge exchange, support scientific research in university sport, foster cooperation between academic and sports institutions, and contribute to the development of innovative practices that enhance the educational value of university sport. 

EUSA President, Haris Pavletic, officially introduced the goals and strategy behind the structure of this Commission, and Members were acquainted with upcoming EUSA competitions such as the European Universities Games 2026 and European Universities Championships.

During the meeting, Members approached future work orientations and shared views on key working topics that will be approached throughout the Commission’s four-year mandate.
