Judo starts and Canoe Sprint concludes at the EUG2018
The competitions at the European Universities Games in Coimbra entered the last week. While the Canoe Sprint competitions concluded today, the Judo competitions just started.
Day 10 ended the competitions at the Nautic Center of Montemor-o-Velho by awarding the Champions of canoe sprint. The University of Coimbra won a total of 6 medals (3 gold, 2 silver and 1 gold) and made 556 points in all categories, becoming the best University competing.
Although Canoe Sprint was a demonstrative sport at the Game, the quality was high, with participants like Olympians Francisca Laia from the University of Coimbra (POR) and Tom Liebscher from the Technical University of Dresden (GER).
In Judo, the competitions started with the Nage-no-kata event, held today, and tomorrow the individual tournaments start. At the Games, the group stages of competitions in Basketball, Football and Futsal continue, and everyone is invited to follow the events for free - either at the sports venues, or via live streaming.
