The European Powerlifting Federation (EPF) and the France Powerlifting Federation are pleased to invite all interested teams and individuals to participate in the European Classic Powerlifting Universities Cup 2026, which will take place from 17th to 20th February 2026 in Merignac, France.

The competition will be hosted at the Complexe Sportif Daniel Colombier, bringing together Europe’s strongest student athletes for four days of outstanding strength, determination, and sportsmanship.

Under the patronage of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), this event will showcase the best of university-level classic (raw) powerlifting.

The Technical Meeting will be held on 16th February at the Hotel Campanile, followed by the Opening Ceremony on 17th February at 14:00 at the venue. The Closing Banquet will take place on 20th February at 20:00 at Hotel Mercure, celebrating the achievements of all participants.

The competition follows the classic lifting format, with university teams of up to ten men’s and ten women’s teams per federation, each consisting of eight lifters. Medals will be awarded in Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and Overall categories, with team awards for the top three men’s and women’s universities. Eligible athletes must be students aged between 17 and 25 or recent graduates (within one year).

Key deadlines include 19th December 2025 for preliminary nominations and 27th January 2026 for final nominations and hotel cancellations. All athletes must complete the WADA ADeL anti-doping education before registration and comply with the IPF Anti-Doping Rules. Training and weighing facilities will be available at the venue and official hotels.

This event promises not only high-level competition but also an opportunity to connect, celebrate university sports, and promote fair play and inclusion within the European powerlifting community.
