Invitation FASU Games 2016

The Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) in conjunction with University Sports South Africa (USSA) are organizing the 8th All Africa University Games at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in South Africa between June 26 and July 2, 2016.

The event, commonly known as the FASU Games, is a multi sport university sport event organised every 2 years. The 7th FASU Games were hosted by the University of Nairobi in Kenya in July 2014. In 2016, athletes from degree awarding institutions in the African continent will be competing in 9 sports disciplines: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Football, Netball, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball. Participation is by individual universities in Africa.

New registration platform

As part of its improvements in service delivery, FASU launched an online registration platform. “It is the 1st time we are running an online platform, and the 1st time participation is by individual universities. All these are results of a study we conducted in 2014 to try and improve university sports activities on the continent,” FASU Secretary General Mrs Peninnah Kabenge Aligawesa explained.
