Introducing new reinforcements to EUSA team

European University Sports Association (EUSA) and its Institute are happy to introduce our work reinforcements – Mr Mariano Carcatella and Ms Hristina Hristova. They are joining the staff in the EUSA Office in Ljubljana as the Assistant Sport Manager and Communications Officer.

Mariano comes from Italy, and he re-joined EUSA team at the beginning of the year. He played futsal professionally till 2014 in Italy, has a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science from the University of Cassino, and Master's Degree in Sports Management from the University of Bologna. He also has the UEFA Certificate in Football Management. Mariano got to know EUSA as a volunteer at the European Universities Games 2018 in Coimbra, then did a 1-year European Voluntary Service (EVS) placement at the EUSA Office in Ljubljana. Afterwards, he worked as the Sports Manager at University of Camerino, as Venue Logistics Assistant in Rome for UEFA EURO 2020, and we are now happy to host him again in EUSA.

Hristina, also known as Kiki, comes from North Macedonia and has been living in Slovenia for the last 3 years. She officially joined EUSA team in May, while contributing to the work already in the past. Hristina completed her Bachelor studies in Skopje, holding a degree in European Law and Diplomacy, and engaged in Master studies in Intellectual property law. Hristina has been active in different working fields in the past, such as NGO work, social work, human rights, rights of marginalized people, project coordination, volunteering and women leadership. Among her working positions she has experience in being a local consultant for refugee crisis, field worker for monitoring and reporting, social media usage, organizing, moderating and promoting live and online events as well as leading and co-creating educational, social skills development and re-socialization through learning and sports. She sees sport as a powerful tool for social change and promoting human rights and it can play an important role for voluntarism, sustainable development, solidarity, non-discrimination, social inclusion, diversity and respect.

We are extremely happy and proud to have received two enthusiastic young people, and we welcome them to our team!
