International Students’ Day 2022

International Students’ Day 2022

November 17 marks the International Students’ Day, which celebrates the multiculturalism of students and encourages quality education to be accessible and available to all.

International Students’ Day is commemorated on this day following the events that took place in Prague during World War II on November 17, 1939, where a group of students were executed without trial and over 1000 other students were sent to concentration camps as universities and colleges were shut down.

This year’s commemoration of the International Students Day, focuses on equal access to education for all, with special focus on girls and those living in conflict areas. Students represent the driving force towards a sustainable world and freedom, so on this 17th of November we want to take the chance to honor all the students who have fought not only for their rights but for greater causes such as human rights, democracy and peaceful societies.

EUSA has been an active supporter of this campaign over the years, and we are especially happy that this year we have been able to help 234, both male and female, student athletes from Ukraine to participate and compete in the European Universities Games in Lodz.
