Intense August in EUC 2023 season

Weather can be bizarre, but August is always "hot" for EUSA sports events: even with only two European Universities Championship that took place in this month, the competitions were passionate and intense!

European University Sports Association (EUSA) opened this year's Championships season on 25th of June with the competition in Football, and throughout August, 13 Championships were successfully held, hosting: Tennis, Table Tennis, Handball, Badminton, Water Polo, 3x3 Basketball, Volleyball, Futsal, Combat Sports, Basketball, Orienteering and Rugby 7s.

With the great number of over 4400 participants in the so far completed championships, we are striving towards a record number by the end of the summer season this September.

August was brimming over with emotions and athleticism, with two very different but both super exciting Championships at the end of the month.

From 24th to 27th in St. Gallen, Switzerland took place the European Universities Orienteering Championship with more than 200 participants that ignited the city, bringing a lot of spectators in the woods and across the University Campus. Even with heavy rain the races were fierce and well fought, with athletes from all over Europe showcasing their skills.

Talented student-athletes exhibit their exceptional performances also from 28th to 31st in Lisbon, Portugal, where the European Universities Rugby 7s Championship took place. Competing for the win but with outstanding fair play, strong teams battle their way through the medals rising the excitement of organizers and public.
Nonetheless the summer season is not yet finished, as Rowing and Beach Sports (Beach Handball and Beach Volleyball) Championships are fast approaching and they will be held respectively 7-10 September in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and 19-24 September in Malaga, Spain.
Finally, last but not least, the inaugural edition of the European Universities Winter Sports Championships (Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding and Snow Volleyball), will be held in December, for a new and thrilling closing of the EUC 2023 season: for this last event of the year, which will be held in Val di Zoldo - Dolomites, Italy, the registrations are still open until 18th September!

By the end of the year EUSA expects more than 5000 participants in this year round of European Championships: events that without a doubt had and still will bring much fun, strong competition and great results as never before.
