iFLIPP project supporting women and ethnic minorities

Partners of the Erasmus+ project Innovating Football Leadership through Practice and Policy (iFLIPP) met online on March 30, reviewing the progress of the project and setting the next steps in supporting women and ethnic minorities in football and sport in general.

After the welcome and introductions of new staff, the main indicators of the Governance Index has been presented. The information will be updated with second batch of data, which is currently being collected, and will be published this year.

The educational tools - roadmap and training kit in form of an online MOOC, are being designed and will be finalised in the next months. The official website and Online Community Platform will be introduced as well.

Three European Leadership Workshops are planned to be carried out as part of the project, and will be held in the Netherlands and Slovenia between July and October this year. A special call will be launched for participants, working in the field of equality in sport (especially football), and the workshops will focus on how to better support women and ethnic minorities in sport.

The partners will next meet online in May and June, while the next in-person partners meeting is planned for September in Slovenia.

iFlipp is a three-year project which is funded by the Erasmus Plus programme of the European Union, coordinated the FARE Network (NED), in cooperation with Hawar.help (GER), Integrated Dreams (POR), Erasmus University Rotterdam (NED), Portugal Football Association (POR), Malta Football Association (MLT) and the EUSA Institute (SLO), with the support of Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
