High interest in EUG 2026 Salerno

Registrations for the European Universities Games 2026 in Salerno, Italy, are ongoing, and interest is exceptionally high.

Scheduled for 18 July to 1 August 2026, the Games represent EUSA’s flagship multi-sport event and one of the largest university sport competitions in Europe, welcoming thousands of student-athletes, officials, and university representatives from across the continent.

Most sports have already reached full capacity, reflecting the strong demand and reputation of the event. However, a limited number of places remain available, with several disciplines close to being full, namely Futsal (women), Handball, Padel, Beach Handball, and Rugby 7s. Universities still have the opportunity to register teams in these sports until February 27; remaining places are expected to be allocated quickly.

The European Universities Games 2026 will feature a broad and diverse sports programme, offering student-athletes the chance to compete at a high international level while representing their universities. Beyond competition, the Games place strong emphasis on fair play, cultural exchange, and the dual career of student-athletes, creating an environment that goes well beyond sport alone.

Hosted in Salerno, a city known for its Mediterranean setting and strong academic and sporting tradition, the Games will be supported by modern facilities and a comprehensive event programme. Alongside the competitions, participants can expect educational, social, and networking activities that strengthen cooperation within the European university sport community and contribute to a memorable international experience.
