Fruitful EdMedia project meeting in Ljubljana

Partners of transnational project EdMedia, including the EUSA Institute, met at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Sport for a successful second meeting of the project, where fruitful discussions were held.

Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, EdMedia aims to proactively change the attitude towards an athletes’ dual career by deliberately shaping a positive image and encouraging sports organisations to pursue the implementation of the European Union’s guidelines on dual careers of athletes.

The project involves widespread representation from its eight partners spread across Europe, which include the project’s coordinators from the Lithuanian Sports University, European Athlete as Student (EAS) Network based in Malta, Italy’s University of Rome Foro Italico, Romania’s Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, the University of Valencia in Spain, German Sport University Cologne, Slovenia’s University of Ljubljana and the EUSA Institute.

Edmedia meeting in Ljubljana, August 2019

Following the project’s kick-off meeting in Kaunas, Lithuania in February, the two-day follow-up meeting saw all partners share their contributions on their specific work packages so far, which included reviews on scientific literature, desk research, gap analysis and evaluations.

Discussions over the development of strategy and recommendations as well as online educational programme methodologies were also held, before an update regarding the project’s communication and dissemination was given.

All partners were then handed various tasks to continue undertaking ahead of the project’s third meeting, scheduled to take place in Valencia, Spain in April next year.
