Four competitions said goodbye to EUG 2018

Like it was yesterday when the first competition have started and tonight we have to say goodbye to for sports that finished tonight at the European Universities Games (EUG) 2018. Today, their last races and games played Table Tennis players, Para Table Tennis players, 3x3 Basketball teams as well as the Rowers.

Wonderful Montemor-o-Velho was the home of the best university rowing teams and today we saw 20 final events in both men and women competitions. Table tennis competition teams competition has been concluded on Sunday July 15 and the gold medal in womens competition went to Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov (Russia), silver to University of Warsaw (Poland) and bronze to the teams of Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (Poland) and University of Paris 13 (France). Nisantasi University (Turkey) won the gold defeating Rzeszow University of Technology (Poland), while the bronze medal went to Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania) and University of Gothenburg (Sweden)

Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (Poland) won the gold medal in women doubles competition, beating Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov (Russia) and the bronze medals went to University of Warsaw and the University of Paris 13.

In mens doubles competition Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) won the gold, Rzeszow University of Technology (Poland) silver, and two teams from Marmara University (Turkey) won the bronze medals.

Anna Blazhko from Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov won the gold in womens singles, beating Xiao Qiwen (University of Paris 13) while Slifirczyk Katarzyna (University of Warsaw) and Roksana Zalomska (Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa) had to satisfy with the bronze.

In mens competition both gold and silver went to Nisantasi University, because Gunduz Ibrahim won the gold and Yigenler Abdullah Talha won the silver medal. Two bronze medals went to Golebiowski Mateusz (Rzeszow University of Technology) and Ondrej Bajger (Technical University of Ostrava).

Elias Debeyssac, from the University of Bordeaux, was the winner of the para-table tennis competition, winning over Alberto Seoane, from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Third place was taken by the University of Siena and the University of Clermont Auvergne.

3x3 Basketball proved its quality and many spectators came to the stadium to see the best men and women teams. In mens competition Vytautas Magnus (LTV) became only the third team that won the gold medal, beating University of Goettingen (GER) in the final match, while Istanbul Arel University (TUR) took the bronze.

University of Pitesti (ROM) defeated Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (UKR) to win the gold in the womens competition, while University of Ljubljana won medal on their fourth consecutive EUSA event, and they had to satisfy with their second bronze medal.

Polytechnic Institute of Porto won the Fair Play Award, Sonia Ursu (University of Pitesti) and Aurimas Urbonas (Vytautas Magnus) won MVP awards, while best shooter awards went to Maja Jakobcic (University of Ljubljana) and Almog Barak (Ohalo University)
