FISU World Forum 2024 to be held in Zagreb
We are delighted to inform you that the FISU World Forum will be held from August 27-31, 2024, in Zagreb, Croatia.
The FISU World Forum is an event that takes place biannually and unites students, officials and partners to explore and gain insights into the main topics within university sports.
This year’s FISU World Forum topic is “University Sport: Creating a Better World”. The event will include keynote speeches, panel talks, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, addressing various subjects including sports management, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and advancements in university sports.
Furthermore, two sub-themes will direct presentations and discussions: Diversity and Inclusion: Fostering gender equality, inclusivity, and accessibility in university sport and Sports Diplomacy and Global Relations: Leveraging unversity sports for international collaboration and cultural exchange.
The FISU World Forum aims to highlight the significant influence of university sports on the global community. Through sports, qualities such as teamwork, discipline, and a commitment to excellence are nurtured, reaching beyond the boundaries of the athletic arena. University sports are actively advocated for, contributing to the advancement of a more inclusive and improved world.
This year's edition of the event is organized by the Croatian Academic Sports Federation in collaboration with the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in the capital city of Croatia. Zagreb hosts a dynamic sports community and is the base for numerous universities and academic institutions.
National University Sports Federations are encouraged to enroll up to five representatives, ensuring a minimum of three are students and maintaining gender balance. Delegations may include a maximum of two officials.
