International Universities Sports Federation (FISU) opened a call for the fifth edition of FISU Young Reporters programme, which allows young reporters from all over the world to attend the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

Six young reporters from five continents - Europe (1), Africa (1), America (2), Asia (1) and Oceania (1) will have the opportunity to go to the biggest university multi-sport event and to specialise in different areas of the media, such as news reporting, sports photography and digital/social media journalism.

Presenting FISU Young Reporters Programme (YRP) at the recent AIPS Congress, FISU YRP alumni Ms Sonja Nikcevic explained the importance that this programme has on development of young reporters: “To work a major sports event, you almost always have to have the experience of already working the event. If young journalists can’t get this experience without already having it, how are we supposed to develop the next generation of sports journalists? The Young Reporters Programme allows young journalists to get out of this vicious cycle.”
