FISU holds Extraordinary General Assembly

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) held an online Extraordinary General Assembly for its members on December 17.

At the event, a report on recent FISU activities was made, including preparations for the upcoming FISU World University Games; namely the Winter Edition in Lake Placid, due to begin in January, and the Summer Edition, to be held next summer in Chengdu. 

Provisions for the presidency of FISU were also discussed. Prior to the meeting, elected FISU President Mr Oleg Matytsin submitted an update to the FISU Executive Committee, confirming extension of delegating the functions of the presidency to the FISU First Vice-President and Acting President Mr Leonz Eder. Mr Eder has successfully fulfilled these functions since March 2021. 

FISU is to hold its regular General Assembly in November 2023.
