EUSA welcomes Water Polo to is 2019 Championships Programme

Water Polo is not a new sport with the European University Sports Association, as it has been featured during the European Universities Games Zagreb-Rijeka 2016, and organised as an EUSA Cup in Koper in 2017. In July 2019, however, the first edition of the European Universities Water Polo Championship will be held in Koper, Slovenia.

In preparation of the event, an inspection visit was held in Koper between December 5 and 7, 2018.

Meeting at the City Hall

The newly appointed EUSA Technical Delegate for Water Polo Mr Attila Marosvari visited the host city, where he was met by Mr Seit Demiri, President of the Organising Committee and Mr Patrik Perosa, President of the Slovenian University Sports Association (SUSA).

Sports venue

During the inspection visit the sports and accommodation facilities were inspected, and operational, as well as strategic meetings were held.

Meetings

During his stay in Koper, Mr Marosvari met with Mr Peter Bolcic, Deputy Mayor of the City of Koper, as well as Mr Boris Kavur, Vice Rector of the University of Primorska and Mr Blaz Ceklic, Advisor of the Rector. EUSA Sports Manager Mr Besim Aliti joined part of the meetings as well.

University reception

The European Universities Water Polo Championship will be held in Koper together with the European Universities Beach Volleyball Championship, between July 21 and 26, 2019. Registrations are open; please see http://koper2019.eusa.eu for details.
