EUSA welcomes EVS-ESC volunteers for 2018-19

In September, European University Sports Association (EUSA) with its Institute welcomed two new international EVS volunteers in the office. EUSA staff has been joined by Ms Jenaan Al-Rahman Ahmed from Ireland and Mr Mariano Carcatella from Italy.

Jenaan has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ahfad University for Women. In her academic years, she played football as a defender in the college team. Her background experiences vary in many fields such as environment, voluntary work in humanitarian affairs, youth and sport. Previously she was an intern in UNOCHA in Sudan. Her great passion about sport and working in the aspects of gender equality and dual career brought her to EUSA. Her sending organisation is Voluntary Service International (VSI) from Dublin, Ireland.

Mariano has a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science and is currently finishing his Master's Degree in Sport Management at the University of Bologna in Italy. He played futsal at professional level for several years and is passionate about sport. He also volunteered in many international sporting events, including the European Universities Games 2018 in Coimbra. His sending organisation is CSS Forli-Cesena from Forli, Italy.

Jenaan and Mariano already attended the EUSA Convention in Kranjska Gora, where they were welcomed by the extended EUSA family.

EVS is supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

EUSA Institute is an accredited organisation for the European Commission's European Voluntary Service (EVS) and European Solidarity Corps (ESC), and the current EVS programme is financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. In Slovenia, the programme is coordinated by the National Agency Movit.
