Before diving into the busy schedule of the European Universities Games 2026, members of the EUSA Office and support staff came together for a successful team-building evening under the sign of sport.

Hosted on July 14, this informal gathering was a crucial moment to reinforce the cooperation and team spirit that underpin the successful delivery of Europe's largest university multi-sport event.

The programme began with participants introducing themselves and sharing a few words about their backgrounds and roles within EUSA. The session also featured welcoming remarks from EUSA Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik, Director Education & Operations Sara Rozman, and Director Sports Event, Liam Smith, highlighting the importance of collaboration, communication and mutual support throughout the Games.

Following the introductions, staff members took part in a series of team-building activities designed to help everyone get to know each other better before the Games.

The programme continued on the padel and volleyball courts, where colleagues enjoyed friendly matches in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. These activities reflected the values that define the European Universities Games: teamwork, inclusion and enjoyment, while providing an opportunity to strengthen relationships and build team spirit in an active setting. 

The successful organisation of the event relies on the dedication and cooperation of staff members working behind the scenes. The team-building evening served as an opportunity to connect outside of the operational environment and a reminder that strong collaboration off the field is just as important as excellence on it, helping ensure that EUG 2026 delivers an outstanding experience for all participants.

The team-building evening concluded with a shared dinner, where colleagues continued getting to know one another, exchanged experiences, and enjoyed informal conversations ahead of the first days of competition, further reinforcing the sense of unity and collaboration within the EUSA team.
