EUSA Supervision Commission visit in Budapest

The Hungarian capital city Budapest hosted a two day Supervision Commission Meeting, on 2-3 of February, as the local organisers provided updates of their continual progress in organisation of the next edition of the European Universities Games 2024 in Debrecen and Miskolc. 

On this Supervision Commission Meeting, EUSA was represented by Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pečovnik, together with Education and Development Manager Ms Sara Rožman, Sports Manager Miha Žvan and EUSA Consultant Ms Nataša Jankovič. 
The delegation of the EUG2024 Organising Committee included Representatives of the Hungarian University Sports Federation (MEFS) led by Secretary General Mr Peter Juhasz, accompanied by NSF (MEFS) Board Member and EUSA EC member Mr Zoltan Rakaczki. 

Following a short introduction, the EUG2024 Organising Committee delivered a general report, updating all present on the progress made in various organisational fields, the master plan, financial report as well as the sports program planned for the Debrecen-Miskolc edition of the Games. 

On this meeting, both parties agreed on the dates of the EUSA-EUG2024 convention, which will take place from 1st to 4th of June in Budapest, Hungary, while the site visits will be separately done in Debrecen and Miskolc.

Main topics of discussion of the second day of the Supervision Commission Meeting, were the activity plan for 2023 including the promotion during the European Universities Championship, the General Assembly, test events in Hungary, transfer of knowledge meeting as well as the next Supervision Commission meetings.

On the occasion, the project reports of the three upcoming European Universities Championships in Badminton, Water Polo and 3x3 Basketball, were also presented.

Overall, there were numerous positive findings by the Supervision Commission, who noted the good progress made by the Organising Committee with preparations for the Games going according to plan.
