EUSA staff getting ready for the EUG2018 with a #beactive day
The beginning of the European Universities Games in Coimbra is just days away and the extended office of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) on Tuesday organized the introductory meeting and a #BeActive day to prepare for the forthcoming event.
In Coimbra, EUSA office/staff will be represented by 25 members, experienced in their own field, and will be joined by Competition Commission Chairs, EUSA Technical delegates and their assistants. Almost 70 EUSA representatives will come to Coimbra, all working together to support the Local Organizing Committee to make the 4th European Universities Games 2018 enjoyable and memorable for everyone.
During the day, several meeting were organized focusing on functional areas, and first EUSA staff actually arrived to Coimbra a few days ago already, making the preparations for the operation of the extended office.
In the afternoon, a joint meeting, focusing on expectations and goals from the staff members was held on a beach of the nearby city Figueira de Foz.
Team building continued with #BeActive activities. First, the team did some of the #beactive challenges, and the sports programme focused on the beach soccer tournament, with the ongoing FIFA World Cup theme. EUSA Staff members were divided in four teams, representing all the semi-finalists.
The arrivals of the rest of the EUSA Family, as well as several representatives of the national university sports association will be in the next few days. The European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 will officially open on July 15, and will bring together over 4000 participants from all over Europe, competing in 13 sports, attending the Rector’s Conference and enjoying the educational, cultural and social activities.
