EUSA present at Armenian celebratory conference

The Sports Federation of Students of Armenia (FFAF) celebrated it’s 25th anniversary with a special Conference as well as an extraordinary general meeting, at which EUSA was present.

EUSA President Adam Roczek and Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik were among the invited guests at the high-profile event, which took place at the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) in Armenia’s capital city, Yerevan.

Ahead of the start of the event, ASUE Rector Ms Diana Galoyan received in her office Mr Roczek and Mr Pecovnik, who were also accompanied by Head of ASUE Department of Physical Education, Emergency Situations and Civil Protection and Secretary General of the Federation Mr Hovhannes Gabrielyan as well as member of the Student Committee of the Federation, Mr Grisha Amirkhanyan.

Meeting with the Ministry in Armenia

Ms Galoyan noted the important role sport and physical culture has at university level while noting the university’s widespread participation in various events and competitions. Mr Roczek highlighted the importance such events have in uniting student athletes from around the continent and globe, while also presenting EUSA’s activities and planned events, including next year’s EUSA General Assembly which will take place in Yerevan.

Following the meeting, invited guests gathered in the university’s hall for the conference and extraordinary general meeting, where reports on various aspects of Armenia’s university sport involvements and future possibilities were given, before a number of symbolic awards were given out, directed at individuals and associations who had made a telling contribution to the development of student sports in Armenia.

Armenian 25th anniversary Conference

The extraordinary general meeting ended with the discussion of the resignation of NGO President Mr Razmik Stepanyan and the election of a new president where Mr Hovhannes Gabrielyan, the new President of the Student Sport Federation of Armenia, was elected by a unanimous vote.
